Queen of the USA

about

This was part of a multi-artist tribute to one of our favorite bands from the 1990s, Jellyfish. The 35 song tribute was called "Sensory Lullabies" and was released by Burning Sky Records. I believe it's out of print now, though you can still turn up copies on the web different places.

Jellyfish was an amazing band. The band broke up after only 2 albums - Bellybutton and Spilt Milk - but the artists involved, chiefly Roger Jospeh Manning Jr, Jason Faulkner & Andy Sturmer, are still out making great music.

This song, Queen of the USA, was written by the original bass player, Chris Witt Ketner, one of the founders of Beatnik Beach, a proto-Jellyfish group. It was not on either of the Jellyfish albums, but we found it on a disc of demos and bonus tracks and did our own version of it.
