Peccadillo

about

This started as a tune without a lyric. Craig was on the phone with Gary, told him about a new tune he had, but didn't know what to write about. Gary picked up a dictionary, and randomly ended up in the P's, where he suggested this word. From small things...

(For another song from the same circumstances, see "Pageboy" on the Taters PARTY album)

lyrics

I've been gaining a great amount of experience
As I've watched your friends who'd seen the show
And I can sense what they all know
That you've become a master
At the art of the peccadillo

You were always my favourite kind of authority
I looked to you when you would go
But who could tell from so far below
That you'd become a master
A king of the peccadillo

Peccadillo
When the stakes are not too high
Peccadillo
Just enough so you'll get by
When the situation doesn't call
For a crime that's too extreme
Peccadillo, you're the scoundrel of my dreams
