about

the earliest recording on menagerie. This was actually done as a single back in 2004, right after Recess came out. We recorded it for an album to benefit Richmond's homeless population. This is the first time it's shown up on any of our own albums.

---------------------------------------
I was coming home from work when I saw you in the window
I forgot that was where you lived
I didn't want to stand there
I couldn't let you see me

In the bushes right away, in my head I felt a burning
I forgot he was there with you
The years they started closing
The time had left my mind

I forgot all those times I tried to call you
I forgot that you ever left at all
I forgot all those things that time can change
I forgot that you ever changed your name
